Jon Douglas Spry

Jon Douglas Spry Family and friends are mourning the death of Jon Douglas Spry, 58, of Westminster, CO. He passed away August 31st, 2011 at home after a long battle with cancer. Jon was born September 10, 1952 in Mitchell, SD. He leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Donna (Spiva) Spry, daughter Erica Spry (Westminster), daughter Margo and her husband Jason Heppler (Lincoln, NE), daughter Christa and her husband Jim Hoffman (Thornton, CO), and son Mike Cronin (Westminster) along with grandchildren Timothy and Jessica Cronin (Westminster) and Lauren Hoffman (Thornton, CO). He is also survived by his mother Deloris Spry (Mitchell, SD), his sister Deanne and husband Al Larson (Mitchell, SD), and brother Steve and wife Nancy Spry (Westminster, CA). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Ronal Spry. Jon worked for Rockwell Automation for 25 years in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Massachusetts, and again in Colorado. His position allowed him to travel extensively. Jon was known for his sense of humor, wisdom, and dynamic personality. His life was greatly enriched by his friendships with his colleagues and customers. Jon was intelligent, adventurous, sometimes feisty, and always loving. He enjoyed many hobbies, including race cars, photography, designing and making unique furniture and observing and protecting birds of prey, especially owls. Jon enjoyed music and was known in his family for his beautiful singing voice. He loved to travel all around the United States and the world. He also loved camping with his children and grandchildren. A celebration of Jon†™s life will be held on September 10, 2011 which would have been his 59th birthday. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm at The Inn at Hudson Gardens at 6115 S. Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, CO 80120, followed by a celebration lasting until 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, it was Jon†™s request that memorial contributions be made to his favorite non-profit organizations, Birds of Prey Foundation at 2290 S. 104th St, Broomfield, CO 80020 or Rocky Mountain Raptor Program at 2519 S.
