Jonathan Tyler Boone

Jonathan Tyler Boone, of Charlotte, NC, died unexpectedly in his home, on July 10, 2019, at the age of 27. Jonathan is survived by his paternal grandparents, Jerry and Lucia Boone; and his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Linda Revels; his father, Jerry Boone, Jr. (Toni Blackburn Boone); his mother, Paula Revels Boone; his son, Jayden Tyler Boone; his brother, Patrick Boone; and his half brother, Elliot Boone. Jonathan was born in Charlotte on August 28, 1991 to Jerry (Buddy) and Paula Boone. He was a high school graduate and a hard worker. He worked in food services, landscaping, and manufacturing jobs but his real passion was playing guitar, singing, and songwriting. He was often told he should try out for American Idol and if he had chosen to do so, no doubt he would have been noticed as a someone with a special gift of music. Jonathan was a devoted father. On December 13, 2014, he welcomed his son, who was the light of his life. He was also a good and loyal friend to many, always willing to help someone in need. He was willing to share the struggles in his life that led him into a long term recovery program and ultimately, a deep relationship with God, in the hope that it would help others on their journey. When you met Jonathan, you were instantly impressed with his good looks, his kindness, his sincerity, quick sense-of-humor, and the spark within him that was uniquely Jonathan. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. A private graveside service is scheduled at Back Creek Church in Charlotte, NC. Reverend Matt Carr will officiate. Jonathan's family asks that their privacy be respected as they say a final farewell in a manner that nurtures and protects his young son during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Haven Inc. or Charlotte Rescue Mission to help them in their good work.
