Lober, Jonathan M., 30, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Edward White Hospital. Born in Slidell, Louisiana, he came here in 2008 from Davidsonville, MD. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg College, Class of 2010. He worked as a software tester for American Express. He was a Southbound Thru-Hiker and spent four months on the Appalachian Trail. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Mullen, and his paternal grandfather, James Lober, Sr. He is survived by his fiancee', Janelle Irwin of St. Petersburg; three step-daughters, Alexia, Zoe and Lilli; his parents, James Jr. and Donna Lober of Davidsonville, MD; his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Shannon Lober of Somerset, NJ; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Lorentzen of Odenton, MD; his maternal grandfather, Frank Mullen Jr and his wife, Donna; maternal grandmother, Mary Lober; two nephews, Erik Lorentzen and Dean Lober. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in his name to The Appalachian Trail Conservancy, www.appalachiantrail.org/donate. Locally, the family will be having a Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 7:30PM at Pass-A-Grille Beach near the jetties. A reception will follow at their home.
