Jonnie Mae Ritterbandt

September 1st, 1952 - November 3rd, 2023

Jonnie Ritterbandt, age 71, loving mother of 3, and grandmother of 2, passed away November 3, 2023. Jonnie was born at the Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC, and was a daughter of John Winningham and Margaret Louise Stuart Winningham. Jonnie was a Sunday School Teacher and Nursery Worker for many years at West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was in the choir and loved singing, and her favorite music was Southern Gospel Music. Jonnie was always one that loved doing things for others, and would do all she could to try to help those around her in need. She always had a love for animals and nature. She loved to travel to the Blue Ridge Mountains any chance she got, and would never cease to be amazed by the beauty of the mountains. Jonnie met her husband Roy through family and loved him deeply to her last day. Her family meant the world to her, and she was beyond excited to be a grandmother to her “little peanuts.” Jonnie is survived by her daughters, Mary Ritterbandt of Cayce, Patricia Ritterbandt of West Columbia, Sylvia and Joseph McMenamin of West Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Michael Ritterbandt and Joseph McMenamin Jr. She is also survived by her sisters, Lila and James Summerlin of Gaston, Joan Dooley of Columbia, Margaret and Leroy Yenny of Cayce; and sister-in-law, Faye Winningham of Neeses; sister-in-law, Doreen Goffe of Medina, NY; several nieces and nephews, and her “fur-baby” Munchkin. Jonnie was pre-deceased by her husband, Roy Ritterbandt; parents, John and Margaret Winningham; a grandchild, Angel Baby; her brother, JB Winningham; as well as her “fur-babies,” Rambo and Rusty. A Celebration of Life service for Jonnie Ritterbandt will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Funeral Home, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
