Jose Blair Aleman
September 9th, 1935 - March 12th, 2018
Jose Blair Aleman 82 years of age, passed peacefully on March 12, 2018 at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California. Jose was born on September 9, 1935 in Charlotte, Texas. He was the youngest of nine siblings and was the last surviving family member. He attended elementary school up to the eighth grade and began to work so he could help support himself and his mother. Jose married the late Hortencia Hernandez Aleman on September 7, 1954. They had six children. Jose and Hortencia were married for 62 years. Jose worked for many years as a field worker and tractor driver in Buckeye, AZ, White Wing Ranch and others. When an opening became available for the Bureau of Reclamation, he applied and got the job in Yuma, Arizona. As time went on he promoted within the Bureau which moved him the Ehrenberg, Arizona. He was the Branch Chief, working along the Colorado River maintaining the river banks. He retired from the Bureau of Reclamation 30 years later. After his retirement, he worked for five years at the port of entry in Ehrenberg/Quartzsite issuing permits of citations to the incoming truck drivers. Jose was an outdoor man, He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and most of all he loved to go shooting. Guns were his passion. Jose was a proud man. He was funny with a lot of character. He loved to tell the stories of his life experiences, he enjoyed a good laugh while telling jokes, loved dancing with his wife and he enjoyed listening to good music while having a cup of coffee. He was a devoted husband to Hortencia, a devoted father and provider for his family. Jose is survived by his six children. Joe Jr. of Yuma, AZ., Rosemarie of Azusa, CA., Rudy of Phoenix, AZ., Lydia of Parker, AZ., Sophia of Blythe, CA., and Sandra of San Diego, CA. He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by his family and friends. Services for Jose will be held at St. Henrys Catholic Church, 24750 Lower Buckeye Road, Buckeye, AZ on March 26, 2018 at 1:00pm. The burial of his ashes will follow at the Buckeye Cemetery, 23001 W. Broadway, Buckeye, AZ 85326. A family reception will follow the services; an announcement will be made during the services. Condolences may be sent to the family at 6080 Howell Dr., La Mesa, CA 91942. Flowers for services can be ordered through the local Buckeye Florist by contacting Lisa at 602-292-4373
