August 5th, 1946 - September 7th, 2024
On Saturday September 7th, 2024, Jose Albert Alvarez, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 78 years old in Tucson, AZ. He was born on August 5th, 1946 in Benson, AZ to Nabor Alberto and Gloria Alvarez.
He was a long-time resident of Benson, Arizona and is a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He worked 21 years with the City of Benson Street Crew and retired as a foreman. He did many other jobs, from construction, block plant, to paving.
Jose A. Alvarez will be eternally remembered by his wife, Barbara Alvarez, and his three children: Yvonne, Albert, and Ginna. He is survived by his sisters and brothers: Cruz, Maxie, Kathy, Anthony, Angie, Carmelo, and Gracie Alvarez. Albert will also be remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albert is predeceased by his Dad, Nabor Alberto Alvarez (1970), Nana Angelita Gutierrez (1987), Mom Maria Gloria C Alvarez (2019), and Brother Thomas Guadalupe Alvarez (2019).
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus on September 29th, 2024 from 4:00pm - 9:00pm (601 S. Tucson Blvd). Food to follow.
