Jose Bautista

September 2nd, 1933 - August 7th, 2012

Jose (Joe) Bautista Sr., 78, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012, due to a long battle with cancer, at his home with his family by his side in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born September 2, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri. Moved to Pharr, Texas when he was eight years old, where he met and married his wife, Angie, in 1951. They moved to Idaho in 1958 where they resided for the next 42 years in Wilder and Homedale. In 2000, they moved to Caldwell. Joe had a love of sports, especially baseball and his beloved Boise State Broncos. He loved the outdoors as well where he tended to his garden of flowers and vegetables, especially his amazing garlic plants. He always made sure his lawn was immaculate and lush. He also loved to travel visiting all his children and grandchildren who lived all over the United States and overseas. He was so supportive of all his children and grandchildren who have served our country in the military and are still serving today. He loved to play bingo, Wii bowling, and various card games with the family. He also fulfilled one of his life-long dreams of learning how to fly-fish. Joe had the opportunity to participate in a Reel Recovery fly-fishing/counseling program for men with cancer in Sun Valley, ID in 2011. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of his life. Joe took pride in everything that he did and instilled that value to all of his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angelita, and nine children, Joe Jr. (Rose) of Caldwell, Gloria Garcia (Roberto) of Show Low, AZ, Lena Celedon (Manuel) of Texas, Juanita Bautista of Chesapeake, VA, Maria de Jesus Glodowski (Frank) of Meridian, Irene Rivera of Green Cove Springs, FL, Mary Brown (Seth)of Hailey, ID, Teresa Llines (Miguel) of Frederick, MD, Christina Fila (Richard) of Delmar, NY, 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Concha Clifford (Len) of Pocatello, and Josefina Garza of Pharr, TX. He was loved by all and his memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends. A Rosary will be celebrated on Friday, August 10, 2012, 7:00pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with viewing beginning at 6:00pm. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, August 11, 2012, 10:00am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with graveside service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
