Jose De Jesus Jasso

September 7th, 1947 - May 1st, 2024

Jose De Jesus Jasso passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on  May 1, 2024.                 Jose, “Chui”, as he was called by all those who loved him, was born in el Distrito Federal, Mexico on September 7, 1947. He was the oldest of nine children. The family came to the United States in 1955, where his mother and father worked as migrant farm workers. They migrated from Texas, Arizona, Washington, Oregon and to Idaho. The family finally settled in Caldwell, Idaho in 1962. He went to school in the Caldwell School District while helping his family working in the fields, which made it very difficult to go to school. He got his GED and began working for the Caldwell School District where he started as a paraprofessional and then eventually became the Home School Coordinator for the next 30 years. This job entailed being the school liaison between the school and migrant families who needed assistance registering their children for school, translating for these families so that they could communicate with the school and their child’s teacher. He often provided these families with transportation to the school, home, doctor and even dentist appointments. A lot of families would ask Jose to talk to their kids and encourage them to stay in school. He would help find scholarships for students that graduated so that they could attend college. Jose often put together food and clothing boxes for families that were in need. He cared deeply about these families. Jose loved his family and often cooked at family gatherings cracking jokes and sharing stories. He is survived by his wife Blanca, his daughter Araseli Carbajal, Luisa Ruano, Belen (David) Samayoa, Josue (Alexis) Jasso, Marcos (Lisa) Hernandez, Jordan (Tommi) Saengthip, Israel (Christina) and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Isidora Jasso, sisters, Margarita Wise, Maria Elena Wiley, brothers, Francisco (Silvia) Jasso, Rojelio (Suanne) Jasso, Javier Jasso and sister Juanita (John) Seale. I met chui through his wife Blanca several years ago. Over those years I came to know a very caring and devoted man to not only his family, but to the people him and blanca cared for in their home. chui always had a smile and a laugh every time I went to visit. I have great memories of him, always happy. God bless you Chui, rest in peace. Marilyn Freeman

You where there for me as a teenager when I felt nobody was around. You believed in me, and showed my unconditional love. I will always remember the lessons in life you taught me. You will forever be missed. I love you tio. Save a spot for me and tell my son I'll see him soon. 🥰
