Jose Maria Pena (Chema), 88, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, in Salinas, CA. A resident of Monterey County for over 30 years, Jose was born in La Sara, Texas on November 06, 1933. He worked predominately in agriculture in California, Texas and was a foreman for Harden Farms. Jose is survived by his wife of 64 years Margarita Pena, his daughters Janie Pena and Norma Magdaleno, (Armando). Jose leaves 4 grandchildren, Mario Reyes (Lupe), Crystal Magdaleno, Jacob Magdaleno (Maggie) and Nathan Castillo. Jose also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren, Jaylynn Magdaleno, Caleb Magdaleno, Theo Magdaleno, Savannah Reyes, Levi Magdaleno. Jose is preceded in death by his parents Jose Pena Sr., Maria Garcia Pena, his sisters Manuela Gonzales, Mage Pena, his brothers Juvencio Pena, Jesus Pena. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 1-5PM at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA. A Rosary will be held at the Mortuary Chapel at 4PM. A Funeral Mass will be held, Wednesday 22, 2021, at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 22 Stone St, Salinas, CA. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way, Prunedale, CA.
