Jose Roman, Jr.

October 15th, 1966 - August 25th, 2024

Jose A. Roman, Jr., beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 57. Born on October 15, 1966, Jose was known for his dedication to his family, his friends, and his work. A longtime resident of North Rockland, he left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jose is survived by his cherished family members: His mother Maria Gonzalez, his brother Miguel Roman, his sister Juliana Hernandez, and his daughter Chasidy Ayers. Jose was a family-oriented man, deeply committed to those he loved, and was known for his warm presence and unwavering support.

In addition to his family, Jose is fondly remembered by his closest friends, George, Gene and Mario, with the combination of them affectionately known as "The Four Amigos." Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, and adventures. His friends and family all describe him as a great listener who had an incredible ability to connect with people on a deep, personal level. Jose loved to spend time at his residence in Myrtle Beach, a place where he found peace and relaxation. Whether it was a BBQ, a day at the beach, or simply reminiscing with friends, Jose loved to laugh and enjoy life.

Jose's career was marked by his dedication and professionalism. He spent many successful years working with FedEx and later served as a Medical Courier at LabCorp in New City. His colleagues admired his meticulous approach to his work, particularly his near-perfect relationship with time and scheduling. Jose took pride in his responsibilities and was known for always delivering with precision.

Outside of work, Jose was an active member of the Lady Warren Hose Company #5, where he served since 1985. He had originally intended to join a different company, but his fellow brothers convinced him to join Lady Warren instead. He was also a proud member of "The 80’s Crew," a group with the motto “Brotherhood – It’s what we do.” His commitment to his brothers and sisters at Lady Warren Hose was unwavering, and he could always be counted on to show up when needed. He also made himself available to the new members of the company, guiding them on what it means to be a part of the Lady Warren Hose family.

A wake to honor Jose's life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 4-8 pm, with Firematic services at 7 pm, at TJ McGowan Funeral Home, 71 North Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. The funeral procession to Mount Repose Cemetery will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, with a 10:45 am departure from TJ McGowan’s Garnerville.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Jose’s memory can make a donation to Lady Warren Hose by contacting (845) 429-9871.

Jose A. Roman, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. May he rest in peace.
