Jose Manuel Vigil

Jose Vigil, born March 19, 1933, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Jose was a Sergeant in the New Mexico Army National Guard. He served his country in Korea. He was a resident of Algodones and Rio Rancho. Jose was a great storyteller and jokester. He loved to watch sports and to bask in the sun while smoking his cigarette. Jose was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos and Senaida Vigil; his wife Patricia Vigil; and his brothers Alex, Johnny, Raymond, and Leroy Vigil. Jose is survived by his children Mary and Jerry Martinez, Tom and Christy Vigil, Allen Vigil and Dina Armijo; his sisters Fela Romero, Theresa, Lucy and Fidelia Vigil and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his beloved puppy Mylo. Services for Jose will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo in Bernalillo beginning with a Viewing at 10:00 AM. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
