Joseph Kekoa Bailey Antoncich
December 30th, 1982 - November 6th, 2019
Joseph Kekoa Bailey Antoncich, age 36 suddenly passed away in a tragic accident on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 1:00 PM, In Lake Forest Park, WA. Joseph was a very charming and thought provoking man. He used his sharp intellect and quick wit to keep his family, and dear friends entertained. He had an uncanny ability to bring anyone in the room into the fun. He made people laugh and think. He was a simple, yet complicated man. He didn’t back down on any discussion topic – especially those centered around sports and current events. He told corny, but very funny ‘Dad’ jokes. Those who knew Joseph would refer to his laugh as unique, contagious and distinguishable. He was a very loved and humble man. He will be missed deeply by many and forever by all. Joseph was born in Seattle, Washington to Walter and Wendy Antoncich. He has two older sisters, Sarah Malia and Megan Leonani. Joe grew up with his family in Lark Forest Park, WA. Several things were clear about Joe from a very young age, he was an athlete, a friend, a comedian, loyal and a lover of family and life. He took part in nearly every sport, but had a particular draw to baseball. Joseph was undoubtedly sociable, making friends and cherished memories every step of the way. Joe began his education as a Dolphin at Lake Forest Park Elementary, grew to be a Knight at Kellogg Middle School, and went on to be a Scott at Shorecrest High School, graduating in 2001. He attended NE Oklahoma A&M College for a year then returned home to Lake Forest Park, after a career ending injury. He also attended both Edmonds and Shoreline Community Colleges. Once returning home Joe continued many life long friendships and made hundred of new ones. Recently, Joe completed his plumbing apprenticeship and was preparing to take the Journeyman Test. Joe met the love of his life, Rebecca Elizabeth Booker in the summer of 2009 and they shared their love and commitment to one another in a much celebrated wedding on September 22, 2012 before their families and friends at Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline in Shoreline, WA. Joe and Rebecca welcomed their baby girl, Elleeana Nohea Elizabeth Antoncich into the world on August 15, 2013. On December 31, 2013, Joe and Rebecca adopted their then teenage niece, Tierney Maylee Leilani Lemieux. Joe was often up for a Disney sing-a-long or a dance party with his family – always taking the time to hug them just a moment longer. Joseph is preceded in death by both his paternal grandparents Peter and Grace Antoncich and his maternal grandparents Thomas and Agnes Wilson, and Helenanne and Maurice Botham, and his niece, Taylor Nicole Hulsey. Joe is survived by his wife, Rebecca Elizabeth Booker Antoncich and his daughters Elleeana Nohea Elizabeth and Tierney Maylee Leilani Lemieux; his parents Walter Joseph and Wendy Puanani Antoncich, his sisters, Sarah Malia Antoncich (Rob Schmicker) and Megan Leonani Antoncich (Michael Gordon); his newphew Timothy Hogue, and nieces Abigail Schmicker, Olivia Schmicker, Maya Gordon and Malia Gordon. And great nephew Rayjaun Pikes, as well as many other close family members, chosen family and the countless number of people who were fortunate enough to call him a friend.
