Joseph J. Bozek

Joseph J. Bozek, 77, of East Main Street, Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 17, 2005 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1928 a son of Joseph A. and Sophie Basista Bozek. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Bozek was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years at the former White Mop Wring Company as a sheet metal worker. He also worked for a time at the Scotia, New York Naval Depot. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He married Rita M. Benjamin Bozek on May 5, 1953, she passed away on January 7, 1999. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Donna Marie Bant Sweeney and her husband Bill Sweeney of Hagaman, New York; three brothers, Rudolph Bozek, Phillip Bozek, and Timothy Bozek; one sister, Theresa Goss; two grandchildren, Kelly Ann Farnum of Burnt Hills, New York and William Sweeney of St. Petersburg, Florida; two great grandchildren, Nathan Thomas Farnum and Ryan William Farnum and two dear friends, Liz Case and Mike Beausoleil. Joseph was pre-deceased by a stepson, David Bant in 2002. He also was pre-deceased by a grandson, Jason Joseph Bant, and a brother, Daniel Bozek. Funeral Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
