The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Joseph Henry Darcy of Eugene, who died Aug. 20 of a heart attack. He was 71.He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Oregon City to Merrick and Maggie Davis Darcy. He married Doris Dioszeghy on Oct. 4, 2008, in Eugene.He graduated from high school and was certified as a sheet metal worker. He served in the US Navy. He worked as a sheet metal worker and welder at the University of Oregon physical plant.Survivors include a son, John Riley of Ridgefield, Wash.; a daughter, Patricia Riley of Ridgefield, Wash.; a stepson, Andrew Dioszeghy of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Jessyca Stafford of Eugene; a brother, Mike Darcy of Siletz; a sister, Patricia Darcy of Siletz; and six grandchildren. His first wife of 43 years, Zella Darcy, and his daughter, Tracy Corey, died previously.Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. Remembrances to the American Heart Association.
