Joseph Daube
March 26th, 1929 - February 2nd, 2014
Joseph Campbell Daube 84, passed away peacefully into the Lord's Kingdom on February 2, 2014 with his wife Geraldine (Jeri) and son Don at his bedside. Joseph was born on March 26, 1929 in Donora, PA to Campbell Mike Daube and Scundra (Joseph) Daube. He served in the US Naval Reserves and transferred into the Air Force. He was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he met the love of his life, Jeri (Geraldine Hagen). They were married for 60 years. In 1961 they moved to Florida and he was a Civil Service employee at Patrick Air Force Base as Chief of Logistics Branch of MWR until he retired in 1990. He was a loving husband and father. He loved the Lord, his family and he loved people. He was an usher at Prince of Peace Anglican Church until his health began to fail. Joseph was a Past Exulted Ruler and Life member of the Melbourne Elks Lodge 1744. He was an Elk for over 50 years. Joseph was a disabled veteran and a Life member of the DAY. He was a volunteer in the gift shop at Health-First Holmes Regional Medical Center for over 15 years. Golf and playing cards were his passion. He also learned to enjoy traveling, especially cruises. Being from the depression Era however, and one of eight children, it was difficult for him to spend money on himself or for his pleasure. His family always came first. Joseph was preceded in death by his father and mother and his brothers and sisters; Esau Daube, Sue Crafton, Millie Walsh, Sarah Robinson and George Daube. He is survived by his brothers Michael Daube in Irwin, PA and Daniel Daube in The Woodlands, Texas. He is also survived by his wife Geraldine (Jeri) of Melbourne, FL, his children Dirk C. Daube of Lawrenceville, GA, Cynthia (Cindy) Braden of Rockledge, FL, Don M. Daube of Indialantic, Fl and Robert L. Daube of Cumming, GA. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Prince of Peace Anglican Church in Viera, FL on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The family requests no flowers please. Donations may be made in his memory to Melbourne Elks 1744, Prince of Peace Anglican Church, Health-First Foundation or William Childs Hospice House.
