Dear Dunham family,I am so very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know Joe, I grew up in Urbana and my parents (Chris and Paula Reid - now divorced) were great friends with Julia and Mary. I remember all the fun times they had together. Anyhow...I am so sorry for your loss and I will pray for the strength and love of your family to get through this most difficult time. Comforting message - October 13, 2014 at 12:00 AM

I'm sorry for your loss. "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." John 5:28, 29. "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4

RI met Joe freshmen year at Miami. Because we had many Joes in our group, I nicknamed him Smokin' Joe after a popular dj in Chicago. The nickname shortened to Smoke and that's what everyone from Miami called him. He was my roommate with Joe Neyer for a few years. Last time I saw him, he stopped by Joe Buckalew's house in Urbana. He hadn't changed a bit. Rest in peace smoke. I love you.
