June 24th, 1934 - December 21st, 2014
Joseph E. Evich, 80, of Clearwater, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2014. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he is a retired steel worker of 30 years of the former Jones & Laughlin strip mill plant in Pittsburgh. He is also a former and proud union member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 1843. Joe always joked about anything and had a belief never to take life to serious. He always enjoyed sharing stories of his encounters with Pittsburgh sports figures or his encounters with movie actors. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Yolanda (Ruggiero) Evich, son Joseph (Gloria) Evich, sister Mary Lou (Rudolph) Stridinger, his grandson Lee (Elizabeta) his great granddaughter LeighEva and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents William & Lucy Ivic; bother William Evich and sisters Isabell (William) Kustic & Amelia (Al) Adams. Joe was a loving husband and father, wonderful grandfather, special great-grandfather (GREAT PA) and unique friend to all who came in contact with him. A special thank you to the Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas County, FL for their care and support as well as Rev. Monsignor Robert F. Morris, VG. Private arrangements have been planned.
