Joseph Lee Foster "Papa"

Joseph Lee Foster, affectionately known by his grandchildren as Papa, was born on July 18, 1971, in Fairfield,California, and passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 52 in St. George, South Carolina. Joe was a beloved husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.To say that Joe had a lot of love in his heart for his family and friends is an understatement. He enjoyed spending time with friends, playing video games, hunting, fishing, playing golf with Danny, and shooting guns. Joe was a loving husband and devoted Papa, who never missed out on important family events. He never failed to show up for any one of his 7 grandchildren, or 3 great-grandchildren's milestones. Joe loved working as a corrections officer, but he really found his passion when he became a teacher, firearms instructor, and mentor to the recruits and staff at SCDC. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy Foster; daughters, Jennifer Paniagua (JoanPaniagua) and Dawn Francisco (Danny Francisco); grandchildren, Jody Bishop, Julianna Topel (Dakota Topel), Elena Francisco, Angel Bishop, Abigail Francisco, Emily Francisco, and Johnathan Bishop; great-grandchildren, Elliott Francisco-Barclay, August Francisco- Barclay, Everly Topel. One great-granddaughter on the way, and a sister, Jennie Coldwell. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jaqueline (Mullett) Foster, and father, John Foster. Services for Joe will be held at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2pm, located at 281 Treeland Dr. Ladson, SC 29456. Joe's presence will be deeply missed, but his love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
