Joseph Pacheco, 70, of Brighton, Colorado, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14th, 2018. Joseph was born August 14, 1947 to Andrew and Leona Pacheco. He joined the United States Marine Corps in November of 1964 and was sent to Viet Nam. Joseph was stationed at Marble Mountain Air Facility. He was a helicopter machine gunner, and an equipment mechanic. He would never speak of himself or the awards that he received, he would simply say that he was no hero. The real heroes, never made it back. He loved his country and was very patriotic. He enjoyed discussing politics and current events. He always cracked jokes and would call us with the latest “funny”. Joseph was smart and witty. He always had a nickname for everyone, and he would make up songs on the drop of a dime. He loved to fish, grill up some good steaks, and enjoy the time with friends and family. He also enjoyed watching the UFC fights and betting on the fight (even when it was recorded). Joseph loved his family dearly and he always did his best to make sure we were all taken care of. He was a humble and kind person who had a loving spirit. He always went out of his way for others, and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have crossed paths with him in this life. Joseph loved the Lord and considered himself to be very blessed. God always provided what he needed, when he needed it. He lived by the motto that you can’t out give God. We know that his passing is not a good bye, but a see you later. 2 Corinthians 5:9 states, “To be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. “ Someday, we will meet again. Until then, Joseph’s memory will forever live in our hearts. Joseph is survived by his wife Josephine Pacheco, their children, Michael Rico, Jovette Askew, Julian Rico and their spouses and children, mother Leona Pacheco, sister Elizabeth Pacheco, nieces Eve Sanchez, Genie Pacheco, Georgia Pacheco, their spouses, and many great nieces and nephews.
