Simparosa, Joseph Robert, age 80 of Saint Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at St. Anthony's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Altoona, PA, on March 30, 1935 to the late James Simparosa, and the late Elizabeth Elvera Annicito. On March 31st, 1978, Joseph married Bernice and spend 37 wonderful years with her until his passing. A veteran of the United States Navy, Joseph honorably left the service and later in life joined the American Legion. A man of many hobbies, Joseph enjoyed fishing, watching sports and movies, collecting trolls and picnics. He was an avid Tampa Bay sports fan another with the Tampa Bucs. His favorite food was spaghetti. During the majority of his life, Joseph was a butcher serving in the food industry, but for a week up until his passing, he was a driver for the blind. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Bernice of 37 years; four step-sons, Jeffery Earl Spilman, Michael Allen Spilman, Terry Lynn Spilman, and Christopher John Spilman; three step-daughters, Karen Kahler, Mary Lou Hohensee, and Julie Ann Pettit; three brothers, Jerry Reed, Wayne Reed and Terry Reed; and predeceased by two brothers, Jim Simparosa, and Harry Simparosa. Joseph Robert Simparosa will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
