Joseph Francis Taddie Mr. Taddie, 80, of Indian Trail, died Sunday August 2, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. He was born on November 26, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Lawrence Taddie, Sr. and Ursula (McMahon) Taddie. Mr. Taddie had a passion for music and traveling. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and twenty six foreign countries. He attended Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and later served from 1951-1953 in the U.S. Army at Eighth Army Headquarters, Taegu and Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Taddie was Vice President and Sales Manager for Universal Fastener Company, Charlotte, NC; and a long time parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. He was also a Sisters of Mercy Associate, Belmont, NC; honorary member and Vice President of the National Fastener Distributor Association; and he was co-founder and Executive Vice-President of Fastener House, Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and joyous sense of humor. Mr. Taddie loved his God and his family with all his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Diane Lee Taddie and Leann Marie (Taddie) Cangelosi. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eleanore A. Taddie; son, Robert Joseph Taddie and his wife, Denise; daughter, Linda Ann Turner and her husband, John; and son-in-law, John Cangelosi; grandchildren, Nichole (Cangelosi) Anderson, Ashley Cangelosi, Cassandra Cangelosi, and Christopher Taddie; brother, Lawrence J. Taddie; and sisters, Rita Coletta Oktavec and Ursula Ann Unger. A Mass of Christian Burial will at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4207 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC 28215, with Reverend Richard Hanson, celebrant. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill. There will be a wake service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at Hankins and Whittington, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte. The family will receive friends following until 9:00 PM.
