Joseph "Yosef Ben Yaacov Shlomo" Tobias

Joseph Tobias, 75, an 11 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Joseph was born February 22, 1943 in New York, NY to the late Jacob and the late Pearl (Novogroder) Tobias. He grew up in the orthodox Jewish community of Borough Park in Brooklyn, New York and attended the Etz Chaim School in Brooklyn through 8th grade. He graduated from Baruch College in Manhattan with a major in Business, served in the US Army Reserves and later went on to a successful career as owner of Eton Associates, a legal collections agency in Brooklyn, New York. Joseph is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dr. Beverly (Kebbel) Lenny, Counseling Chair of Hunter College High School in New York City. They lived many years in Manhattan and East Hampton, NY before retiring to Las Vegas in 2008. They shared their home with their three adoring cats. Joseph was an avid collector, who enjoyed collecting Israeli and Canadian stamps, toys, coins, Matchbox cars, and Brooklyn Bridge and Coney Island postcards. Joseph is further survived by brothers Herbert (Diane) Tobias of Las Vegas and Martin (Bonnie) Tobias of New York NY; sisters-in-law Janice Coy of Collinsville IL and Nancy (Ray) Leslie of Collinsville IL; nieces and nephews Barry Tobias of Pasadena CA, Jerry (Wendy) Tobias Sound Beach NY , Josh (Lara) Tobias of Henderson, and Kimberly Tobias of New York, NY; Stephan (Jeana) Rowe of Waxahachie TX, Aaron (Wendi Burke) Coy of Arvada CO, Olivia (David) Flerra of O'Fallon IL , Alex Rowe of Boulder CO, great nieces and nephews Guinevere Tobias of Pasadena CA, Autumn Coy of Boulder CO, and Dylan, Jackson, and Isabella Flerra of O'Fallon, IL A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV. .
