Josephine Chavez

Josefita Josie Chavez passed on November 14, 2023. Survived by her son Anthony Chavez; grandchildren Vanessa Morales, Jane Chavez, Lisa Sanchez, and Maria & Chris Baldwin; great grandchildren Emilio, Alejandro, Gabriella, Porfirio (P.J.), & Elijah; & sister Bebe (Beatrice) Lovato & Helen Padilla; son-in-law’s John Sanchez & Armando Chavez; & many nieces, nephews. & friends. Preceded in death by her parents Edward & Mary Jane Lopez; bothers & sisters Filomeno, Terista, Edward, Marget, & John; her children Emilia, Dorothy, Ricky, and Alberta. Josephine spent 47 years driving a school bus for Albert Sanchez Bus Co, in SW Albuquerque. She loved all the children she took to school on her bus. She was a pillar in her community and will be truly missed. Funeral Services will be held at Ascension Church (address 2150 Raymac Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105): Rosary 12/15/23 at 7pm, Funeral service 12/16/23 at 10am Pallbearers will be great grandchildren: Emilio, Alejandro, Porfirio (P.J.), & Elijah; Honorary Pallbearers Armando Chavez & Ernest Gallegos Burial services held after at Los Padilla’s Cemetery reception at Ascension Church after burial.
