Josephine Gonzales-Medina
March 26th, 1926 - June 12th, 2021
Josephine Gonzales-Medina was born in Las Vegas, NM on March 26, 1926 to Ralph Gonzales and Sophia Duran-Gonzales. She was the eldest of 10 children and was known as a mother hen to all of them. She attended and graduated from Highlands High School in Las Vegas, NM. in 1941. Later in life, Josephine worked a sa bookkeeper for Quality Imports Company for over 20 years and retired in 1991. Josephine was a beautiful, loving and kind soul whose generosity reached no limits. Family and friends were so important to her. She loved when people would stop by and visit her, it brought so much joy to her. Even something as simple as a phone call from friends and family would brighten up her day. She was also known for never forgetting a birthday, so you definitely could expect a "happy birthday" phone call from her every year. She was always so thoughtful! She is survived by her brother Dan Gonzales, his wife Ruby Gonzales, as well as her brother Orlando Gonzales. Josephine leaves behind grandchildren, Isaac Allen of Aurora, Colorado, Daniel Allen of Aurora, Colorado, KaSondra Pacheco of Tijeras, NM and husband Vincent Pacheco, and Crystal Medina of Albuquerque, NM. As well as great-grandchildren, Shelby Allen, her husband David Hoy, Alyssa Allen, Bailey Allen, Anthony Ray Allen, Byron Allen, Justin Darnell, his wife Jordan Darnell, Joshua Pacheco, and Narina Hoak. As well as great-great grandchildren, Saniyah Allen and Ryan Darnell. Josephine was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Gonzales, mother, Sophia Duran-Gonzales, her husband William Medina… Her children, Elizabeth Ann Medina-Allen, Loretta Medina, James Medina and Mark Medina. Her brothers, Ralph Gonzales, Frank Gonzales, Roy Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, Tony Gonzales, Michael Gonzales and her sister Carmen Segura. She also leaves behind tons of nieces and nephews whom all adored and loved their "Aunt Josie." She passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12th with family by her side. She will be greatly missed by many!
