Joshua "Josh" Jude Brnak
July 30th, 1978 - October 1st, 2024
Joshua Jude Brnak, 46, of Denver, CO, passed away on October 1, 2024. Born on July 30, 1978, to Elizabeth Diekroeger and Paul Tappy in Greeley, CO.
Josh was known for his vibrant spirit and generous nature. A devoted father, son, and brother, he brought laughter, love, lessons, and joy into the lives of those around him.
Joshua attended Holy Family Catholic School and was a graduate of Fruita Monument High School in Grand Junction, CO, before pursuing a degree and being a proud alumnus of the Colorado School of Mines. He built a successful career as a Lead Petroleum and Reservoir Engineer, where his expertise and dedication were highly valued.
Beyond his professional life, Josh was passionate about the outdoors. He cherished being in the mountains, whether he was fishing or camping, enjoyed golfing with the guys, crawfish boils, and deep-sea fishing. Joshua loved his summers growing up working on the Brnak family farm in Keenesburg, CO, with his grandfather Jim and his uncle Jeff. Above all, spending time with his family and loved ones was paramount to him. He lived for his two children, Adalynn and Jonathon who brought the utmost of life into his spirit. Josh was an exceptional athlete and pianist growing up.
Josh lived a life of simplicity which shaped his view on life and made him a humble, honest, and noble man, never wanting much and giving what he could to his friends, family, and community. His resilience and determination in life was commendable and up until his passing he continued to remain positive and always look for the silver lining in situations. Josh was a devout Republican and an avid supporter of the US military. It was not uncommon for Josh to be at a restaurant and buy service members and veterans their meal as a thank you to their service.
Josh is survived by his grandparents, James and Georgene Brnak and Janice Tappy; his mother, Elizabeth Diekroeger; his children Adalynn Brnak and Jonathon Brnak; his sister Gina Yanowich; his siblings, Preston Tappy and Mackenzie Tappy and his nephew, Duke Guzman. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lee Tappy; his father, Paul Tappy; and relatives Gina Brnak, Matthew Tappy and Leanne Tappy.
A service to celebrate Joshua’s life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at Adamson Life Celebration Home in Greeley, CO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made online to the Denver Rescue Mission on Lawrence Street, in memory of Joshua’s enduring spirit of generosity.
