Josiah Ortega
February 2nd, 1995 - January 31st, 2018
Josiah Ortega, 22, from Questa, NM, left this life to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 2 days before his 23rd birthday. Josiah grew up in Questa and attended school both in Taos and Questa. Josiah was very proud of his nickname "Rotten" because he enjoyed being spoiled rotten. Josiah played chess for the Taos Knighthawks Chess Team and was very proud of the many trophies and awards he received. Upon graduating from Questa High in 2013, Josiah began college courses at UNM-Taos and moved to Albuquerque after the first semester to attend college at UNM Main Campus. While attending college, Josiah worked at a variety of jobs yet, the job that seemed to work the best for him was with his Nino, Larry Ortega. It is there where he gained the skills to lay tile and travel for work. Along with learning new skills and living life in the big city, Josiah met the love of his life, Bibiana. The two of them were inseparable; they did everything together. Josiah took very good care of Bibiana and together they supported each other when it came to work, studying, and having fun. They had recently purchased their first house and had adopted 2 puppies to complete their happy home. Josiah was never afraid to take risks and was always there to have a good time. He was well known for his silly laugh, big heart and willingness to help anybody who was in need. The world will never be the same without the Rotten. Josiah is survived by his parents, Marta Romero and Joseph Ortega, brother Kristofer "BooBoo" Romero and fiancé, Chelsea, and girlfriend, Bibiana Mendoza. Grandma Gigi Romero and Nana Ida Ortega. Aunts and uncles include Jimmy and Jorlanda Ortega, Toby Ortega, and Anna Ortega. Also, Kardo Romero (Teppie), Emma Jean Romero, JoAnne and Steve DeHerrera, Walter Romero, Annette Arellano, Pasqual Romero, Andrea Romero. Godparents: Larry Ortega (Rhonda) and Pamela Maestas. Numerous cousins and friends. Josiah is preceded in death by his Grandpa Walter Romero, Grandpa Santiago "Tayo" Ortega, Uncle Bobby Ortega, Aunt Elaine "Nena" Ortega and infant cousin, Matthew Romero.>
