Jovonne Gutierrez
January 1st, 1901 - January 27th, 2015
As the sun rose on January 27, 2015 a beautiful heart stopped beating. Jovonne Gutierrez age 45, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away. Jovonne, a life-long resident of the south valley, was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2012. Though her fight was aggressive and uncertain, she was showered with love and support from her many family and friends. Upon diagnosis, Jovonne became a fearless advocate for creating awareness of the silent-killer known as Ovarian Cancer. She proudly shared her story in hopes of helping other women. Jovonne had a love for children, mothering many of her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends during her time as an in-home child care provider. She also loved spontaneity, jumping on the back of a bike and hitting the open road. Jovonne is loved and missed by so many and the place she has established in people's hearts will not be forgotten. She is survived by her mother, Marga Pena- Sedillo; two-beautiful daughters, Cecelia and Deandra Gutierrez; two-precious granddaughters, Chloe Garcia and Liliana Alvarado; two sisters, Victoria Tena-Pacheco and Kalandra Garcia; brother, Armando Gandara; sweatheart, Michael Pino; and former husband and friend, Jerome Gutierrez. Jovonne leaves this world and is welcomed in Heaven by her father, Armando (Mundy) Gandara; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luis Gandara, and Mr. Alfredo Pena and his love, Cecelia Pena-Metzgar. Services, celebrating Jovonne's new life in Heaven is as follows, the Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday January 29, 2015 at 7:00 PM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 562 Atrisco Dr. SW. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 9:00 AM also at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Pajarito Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the American Legion Post #13, located at 1201 Mountain Rd. NE, off of Lomas beginning at 12:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM. Pallbearers for the celebration include: Anthony Pacheco -Nephew and God Son, Joziah Ware - Nephew, Carlos Montoya - Cousin and God Son, Scott Norris - Cousin, Adrian Pino - Dear Friend, Alfred Peña - Tio Lindo, Tony Cortez - Uncle, and John Montoya - Uncle. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim (Chale) Tourville, Gene (Compa) Sandoval, Andy (Dru) Griego, Wayne (Deuce) Lujan.
