Joy H. Bauknight

Joy Bauknight passed peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020 in Tampa, Florida. She was born in Davenport, Iowa. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bauknight; daughter, Melody Bauknight Hill; and her father, Melvin Schnoor. She was the BEST Mother anyone could ask for. She was not just my Momma, but she was my best friend. She was a nurse at Forrest Hills Elementary School for many years, and raised four wonderful children and helped raise her granddaughter. Joy touched so many lives with her bubbly spirit and her glorious smile. She taught us all to LIVE, LOVE AND LAUGH...But also to always stand up for what we believe in. She will be sadly missed by so many. Joy is survived by one brother, Leroy Sales (Susan); her children, Myra Bauknight (Kathy), Jimmy Bauknight (Sharmaine), David Bauknight (Beth); grandchildren Angela Harlan (Sean Sr.), Mary Hill (Charlie), Krissi DeYoung (T.C.), Crystal Williamson (Austin), Shawnee Collins (Tony), Courtney Bauknight (Jessica), Kirsten Bauknight, and Michael Schmitt ( Fallyn ); great-grandchildren, Blake Jones, Sean Harlan Jr., Cayden Capps, Clayton Capps, Ava Mae Fitch, Caitlin Thornhill, Kaylee Williamson, Rylee Robertson, Emalee Robertson , Lauren DeYoung, and Michael Schmitt.
