Joy R. Coggins
March 22nd, 1960 - February 10th, 2007
"Palmer- Joy R. (Putnam) Coggins (46) passed away on February 10, 2007 at Mary Lane Hospital from complications due to her prolonged battle with diabetes, high blood pressure, lupus and renal failure. Joy was born on March 22, 1960 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of the late Jean McAllister Elseth . Joy lived in Palmer for the last 8 years, and lived in Londonderry, New Hampshire prior to moving to Palmer. She leaves behind her husband, Scott Coggins of Palmer Masachusetts, her children John Keith and Joshua Keith both residing in Benton Kentucky, and her daughter Jessica Keith of Palmer Massachusetts as well as her siblings, Naomi Mason of Landrum, South Carolina, Justin and Derrick Elseth both of Laurel, Maryland, and her father Rodger Elseth of Fort Lauderdale Florida. Joy spent her life helping others without any consideration for herself. She looked after patients as a CNA at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, Massachusetts, and at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst, Massachusetts. She also worked as a CNA and a visiting nurse in Southern New Hampshire for the Exeter Visiting Nurses Association, as well as Birchwood Nursing Home in Derry, New Hampshire. A service to celebrate Joy’s life and to enjoy the company of those that were fortunate enough to know Joy is planned for 02/17/2007 from 6:00 PM-8:00PM at the Beers and Story Funeral Home in Palmer, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Lupus Foundation of America Inc. 2000L Street, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20036. "
