Born in Tucson, Arizona, Joy passed away peacefully in Arvada, Colorado. Endearing to all graced with her presence, including: surviving family members Al Tafoya, brother, and Al’s wife, Nancy; Melony Tafoya-Clark, daughter; Vincent Patrick Alfonso Clark, son; Maria Carlena Hedrick, daughter; Diana Lynn Hedrick, daughter; plus five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a niece and two nephews, several cousins, and the spirit of her deceased husband, Donald Switzer, deceased mother, Bertha Tafoya; deceased father, Alfonso Tafoya; deceased brother, Charles Tafoya, and her deceased son Stephen Anthony Clark. Joy's adventurous spirit, substance, humility, intelligence, creativity, resiliency, and spirit of cooperation cultivated invaluable lessons about life and an appreciation for all living, breathing things.
Memorial service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, Section 18, Row 0, Site 42, 1pm, Saturday, September 14, followed by a celebration of life, on or around 2:30 p.m. at Gregorio’s Restaurant, 1910 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Colorado. Any flowers are greatly appreciated at her resting place alongside her deceased husband, Don.
