Joyce May Erickson

Joyce May Erickson passed away peacefully in her own home on April 12, 2018. Joyce was the daughter of Joseph Hopkins and Violet May Hopkins, she was born in Gloucester England into a very large family with 11 brothers and 1 sister. She lived in Gloucester until moving to Portland Oregon to marry her beloved husband, Jack. They were married 59 years until his death in 2014. In 2002, they moved back to Portland to be near to family. Farewell for now my "Oregon mom." You always had a warm hug and cup of tea ready whenever I came to visit and never missed saying, "Love you," when we parted. I'll miss you but am comforted knowing you're enjoying a cup of tea with Jesus now:)

She was like a second mom to me growing up. She lived a life of grace and she had a great sense of humor!! May she rest in peace. Hugs and prayers to the family, especially Sharon. :)

I love and miss you, Sweetie! You provided countless laughs, stories and knuckle-sandwiches(most of which I deserved). I will always admire your determination and dedication to whatever task you set your mind to accomplishing.

To a beautiful woman, you are loved and will be greatly missed. Thank you for challenging me, joking, laughing and mostly for the love and compassion you showed towards your daughter and me. I’m glad to have had the pleasure of knowing you. With love and respect, Phillip
