Joyce May Erickson
October 30th, 1929 - April 12th, 2018
Joyce May Erickson passed away peacefully in her own home on April 12, 2018. Joyce was the daughter of Joseph Hopkins and Violet May Hopkins, she was born in Gloucester England into a very large family with 11 brothers and 1 sister. She lived in Gloucester until moving to Portland Oregon to marry her beloved husband, Jack. They were married 59 years until his death in 2014. Joyce lived an active life, and enjoyed walking, bicycling, and gardening. She was very fun loving, somewhat feisty and had a way of making everyone laugh. In 1989 her husband retired and they moved to Phoenix Arizona to enjoy a warmer climate, and became involved with an RV club which provided them many opportunities to take RV trips to various places across the country. In 2002, they moved back to Portland to be near to family. Joyce is survived by her daughters Sally Reintjes and Sharon Sundin along with their spouses Maurice Reintjes and Phillip Sundin, 2 grandchildren Jeffrey Reintjes and Rachel Reintjes, her sister Grace Jones and brother Alfred Hopkins.
