Joyce Erlene Miller
February 5th, 1933 - November 14th, 2018
JOYCE ERLENE (RICHARDS) MILLER Born in Denver Colorado on February 5th 1933 to Earl (Pappy) Richards and Bernice (Pierce) Richards. Joyce was the youngest of 6 children, and always very proud of the fact that her dad was the 1st Fire Chief for the city of Westminster. She grew up in Westminster and remained a member of the community her entire life. She attended Westminster schools and while still in high school she met and married Harley Miller. Joyce and Harley were married for 61 years, until his death in 2011. Together they had a son Scott and 2 daughters Sandie and Sheri that they raised in Joyce†™s childhood home. For the most part Joyce was a stay at home mom. When the kids were older Joyce did go into the work force, she worked at Noble Sysco and for Adams County schools. But raising her children was always her primary focus. Harley and Joyce were very involved in the Westminster Elks Lodge, for many years they were in charge of putting together and delivering the Christmas food baskets to the needy. They were members of the Camper Caravan, and traveled almost every weekend in their trailer during the summer. Joyce became a mother in law and grandma when Scott married Kathleen, and gave her 2 grandchildren †" Paul and Kadie. Those 2 kids were her absolute pride and joy, she was never happier than when she was cuddling her grandbabies. Joyce was able to stay in her childhood home with Sheri and Dennis coming daily to help her. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Harley, her son Scott and daughter Sandie. She will be dearly missed by Sheri, Dennis, Kathleen, Hal, Paul and Kadie, her brother Chuck, and her nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held on Saturday November 24th at 11:00am at the Westminster Presbyterian Church - 3990 West 74th Ave Westminster CO 80030. Followed by a lunch at the Westminster Elks Lodge 2227 - 3850 Elk Drive Westminster CO 80030 In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest that a donation be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joyce's memory. https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html
