Joyce Peek Schulte passed away on August 19th, 2024. Joyce was born on March 8, 1936 in Centralia Illinois to Lester and Leota Flanigan. Joyce was born and raised in Illinois and moved to Tucson AZ in 1998. Joyce worked as a home health nurse and became “The Cookie Lady” when she started Copper Creek Cookies in 2005 . Joyce was active in retirement with the cookie business, volunteering at Oro Valley Hospital and volunteering at OVCN especially with Dress a Girl.

 

Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband Clinton Hayden Peek and her second husband George Schulte, Jr. Joyce was also preceded in death by her sisters Jean Sloat and Marilyn Jolliff, and brothers Lee Flanigan and Edward “Butch” Flanigan.

Joyce is survived by her sons Clint (Tami) Peek, Tim (Theresa) Peek, and daughters Gloanna Peek and Melea Peek, and grandchildren Brittany Peek, Hayden Peek, and Jordann (Derek) Diagostine.

 

The family would like to thank Casa de la Luz Hospice and Cristin their hospice nurse for the excellent care they provided Joyce.

 

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Joyce’s life will be held Friday September 27 at 10:00am Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene: 500 W Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ 85704 Phone: (520) 297-8297.
