Joyce Irene Reid

Joyce "Joycey May, Jo" Reid, a beloved figure in South Florida's hospitality industry, passed away on August 19, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL, at the young age of 87. Born on August 5, 1937, in Blue Diamond, Kentucky,  Joyce was known for her vivacious and humorous spirit, which endeared her to many throughout her impactful life.

Joyce faced life’s challenges and triumphs with unparalleled grit and a heart full of love. Her vibrant personality made her a well-known presence in the hospitality sector for decades. Above all, Joyce cherished her time with family and friends, celebrating every moment with immense joy and love.

She is survived by her siblings, Debbie, Fran, and Russ, along with her grandchildren Andrea, Chris, Erin, Jennifer, Joshua, Kaci, Natalie, and Stacey. Joyce also leaves behind great-grandchildren Alijah, Ava, Benjamin, Elise, Erin, Josh, Justin, Kayla, Nathan, Remee, Stephan, and Vivian, as well as great-great-grandchildren Azlynn, Alena, Carter, Jaime, Jovanni, Olivia, and Quinn. She also leaves behind many devoted nieces, nephews, and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother Virginia, father James, daughters Andrea and Rhonda, grandson Justin, siblings Claudette, Donald, Janet, and Ronald, nephew Kevin, and many well-loved pets.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00am at Anderson McQueen Chapel, located at 7820 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. Joyce's life will be remembered as one filled with laughter, love, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who knew her.
