Joyce Taylor Redmond
March 22nd, 1930 - August 5th, 2024
With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Taylor Redmond, who departed this world on August 5, 2024, at the age of 94 in Warner Robins, Georgia. A service to honor Joyce's remarkable life will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior, between the hours of 12 PM and 1 PM. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Born on March 22, 1930, in Arlington, Georgia, Joyce was the cherished daughter of her late parents, Simon H. Taylor and Will Ona Newberry Taylor and a devoted wife to the late Edward E. Redmond. Her life was a testament to kindness and consideration, hallmarks that marked her every interaction and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
A faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Joyce's devotion to her faith was unwavering. She gave her time generously, serving as a Sunday School teacher and offering support to the congregation whenever needed. Her grace extended into the educational realm as she took on the role of a substitute teacher at Warner Robins High School, where she positively influenced many young lives. Joyce's kind heart and considerate nature shone brightly through her interests as well. She possessed a particular fondness for basketball, especially enjoying games played by Duke and UConn. Her passion for the sport provided joy and a sense of community amongst fellow enthusiasts.
Joyce dedicated her life to her family and community. A consummate homemaker, she created a warm and loving environment for her children, Renee Redmond Strawn (Steve) and Robert "Ed" Redmond (Patty). Her nurturing spirit extended to her four grandchildren—Margaret Katherine Orr (Brandon), Lindsey Farrar, Derek Stephen Strawn (Amber), and Gilbert Hunter Strawn (Rebecca) —each of whom carry forward her legacy of love. Numerous great-grandchildren also celebrate her gentle and enduring spirit.
Her spirit, deeply woven into the fabric of her community and family, will be remembered and cherished forever. In the hearts of those who loved her, Joyce Taylor Redmond's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will endure for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in her memory to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
