Juan Carlos Rivera Garcia Juan Carlos Rivera Garcia passed away on July 30, 2010 in Santa Cruz, he was 34 years old. Juan was born in Jalisco, Mexico. He was an expectant father with his girlfriend Piedad Carrillo Medina, who is pregnant with their first baby, Juan Alberto. Family said the birth was a moment in his life he waited for with love and excitement. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews above anything else. Juan is survived by his mother Elpidia Garcia, 8 brothers and sisters, both in Santa Cruz and in Mexico, nieces Ariana and Mia Rivera and Leylani Madrid, all of Santa Cruz; and nephews Alexis Madrid, Jacob, Christian, and Daniel Jesus Rivera, all of Santa Cruz. A Mass will be held for Juan at Our Lady Star of The Sea Church, 515 Frederick St. in Santa Cruz on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 3:30 pm. The viewing will be at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St. in Santa Cruz on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 10 am until 7 pm, with a Rosary starting at 7 pm. Burial for Juan will take place in Jalisco, Mexico.
