Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Juan Jose Gonzalez
June 3rd, 1957 - March 6th, 2023
Juan Jose Gonzalez Sr 65, of Caldwell, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday March 6th. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on June 3, 1957. Juan met and then married the love of his life, Margie Gonzalez, in 1976. Juan & Margie spent the first several years of their marriage migrating for work, alongside Margie’s family. They settled in Idaho in 1977 where they had four beautiful children and made a wonderful life. Family was the most important thing to Juan. He worked at Omnipure Filter Co. for 34 years before retiring a few years ago, he made several long lasting friendships there. Juan worked hard for his family, always providing for them. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan, if he wasn’t inside watching the game he could be found outside working on one of his vehicles. Juan enjoyed spending time with his eight grandchildren, they were his pride and joy, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. They all knew how much their “buelo” loved them. Holidays were a big thing in the Gonzalez household, Juan embraced tradition. Juan taught his children and grandchildren the importance of working hard and being independent, he would say, “no te dejes,” don’t let anyone take advantage of you. He was firm when needed and he was the sweetest when it came to his family. Juan was a very devoted father, husband and grandfather. He always taught them to stand tall, be proud, and know yourself in all situations. He supported them all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of their lives. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Margie; his daughter Elena (Salvador) Popoca; son Juan (Sunshine) Gonzalez; daughter Christina (Brian) Gonzalez. His eight grandchildren: Jesus Jr, Taylor, Christopher, Alyssa, Nickolas, Matthew, Lilly, and Andrayah. He is preceded in death by his mother in law, Lupe Salgado; daughter, Elizabeth Gonzalez; and both of his parents. Services will be held on Thursday, March 16th at 1:00 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, with a small reception to follow immediately after.
