Juanita Lewis was the first born child to Robert and Delores Lewis. She was born in Columbus Ohio on May 22, 1946.

As a baby, she relocated with her parents to Springfield, Massachusetts, where she grew up and attended school.

Juanita met Henry Binion, and knew that he was going to be her husband the first time she saw him. They married November 23, 1964.  Yes, she got her way!

Nita was baptized in 1964 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her greatest joy was helping people learn about the Bible, God’s kingdom, and the worldwide preaching work. In doing so, she and Ben made many friends along the way, visiting different congregations all over the world.

Anyone that knew Juanita also knew that she loved making desserts! ‘Would you like some whipped cream on that’ became one of her standard trademark questions!

She loved when impromptu guests would pop over. That always gave her the opportunity to feed them whatever sugar filled sweets were around!

She would always say that she loved when ‘the friends’ would come over!

She and Ben also loved to travel. First, they started off taking the children on road trips all throughout the US every year visiting every state. As the children grew older and less interesting, they took the grandchildren! All kidding aside, they just loved to travel, exploring with the children and grandchildren.

Also, Henry and Juanita enjoyed taking trips on their own.   Exploring Australia, Central America, Europe, Hawaii and Alaska.  They particularly loved the cruises.   Juanita stating that Alaska was her favorite!

After 52 years of marriage, Juanita lost her beloved husband, Henry.

The last vacation that she was able to make was Ecuador to visit her son Charles.  She was so happy to make that trip!

Nita had the pleasure of having parents thru out her lifetime.  Her parents were married for almost 79 years. Her father Robert Lewis Sr passed away just two weeks before her death. She is survived by her mother, Delores Ann Lewis.

Juanita had seven siblings, Robert Lewis, Junior of North Carolina , Marilyn Graham of Massachusetts Carolyn Bowen of New Mexico.

Ann Brock also of New Mexico.

Evelyn Lewis, Gwendolyn Lewis and Tommy Lewis, all of Massachusetts.

She leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Juanita also leaves three children, Charles Lewis of Ecuador, Laura Podhaski of New Jersey and Jacqueline, Gustavsson of Massachusetts.

She is survived by five grandchildren, Tony Lewis Jr of Michigan, Calvin Lewis in Vietnam,

Ashley Boston , Arrianna Boston and Meagane Boston of Arizona.

She is also survived by one great grandchild, Mariah Boston of Arizona.

We look forward to seeing our dear sister Juanita again, healthy, and happy!
