Juanita Hazel-Jones Juanita Hazel-Jones passed away on January 15, 2016. She was born on July 17, 1934 in Okemah, OK and was raised in Marysville, CA. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in English. Juanita met Peter Hazel at Cal and they married after graduation. They had five children before Pete passed away in 1965. Juanita earned her teaching credential and worked as a 5th grade teacher and librarian. In 1968 she met Don Jones on a blind date and they married in 1980. They spent many wonderful years together raising family and traveling. Juanita was an intelligent and independent woman. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and reading. She was a devoted mother and will be greatly missed by her family. Her survivors include her sister Norma McKee; children, Debbie (Bob) Pick, Kim (Tom) Kocotis, Stephen Hazel, Marc (Laura) Hazel, Kelley Hazel (Dave Pon), grandchildren, Ian, Alex, Makenna, Charlie, Caylee and Marley. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Jones Viewing will be at 1 p.m. and a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20th at Brusie Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
