Judith Bowne

January 2nd, 2024

A song she sang that reflects her upbeat personality had this line: "Just around the corner, there's a rainbow in the sky, so let's have another cup o' coffee, and let's have another piece o' pie". The love of our lives passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, January 2, 2024 following four years of dementia. She was born January 8, 1945, to Gerald and Margaret (Adank) VanDevender. Judy married Bill Bowne in 1983, then living in Roseburg and later relocating to Eugene. Judy was an avid doll collector, loved music and enjoyed many trips to Eastern Oregon and the coast with her husband. She was completely devoted to her family and close friends. She is survived by her husband Bill Bowne, two sons Doug Hubbard and Jeff Hubbard and her granddaughter Falon Hubbard. She is also survived by her sister Gayle (VanDevender) Thorsby (Gary) and brother-in-law Wally Wacker, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Geraldine (VanDevender) Wacker. A private burial was held at Lane Memorial Gardens, Eugene, Oregon on January 10. A gathering of friends and family will be announced later. Thanks go to the friends and relatives who gave support, and the "Hospice Angels" of Brighton. In remembrance of our Mountain Flower: "Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away...."
