Judith Ann Fischer
January 7th, 1936 - April 29th, 2021
Judy Fischer blessedly passed away peacefully in her sleep at 9:31am on April 29th, 2021 at the age of 85 after succumbing to Alzheimer's and Addison's disease. Judy was born on January 7th, 1936 in Woodburn Oregon to Louis Clark Jackson and Dorothy Jackson (Pickens). The Jacksons lived on a farm where Judy learned to saddle a horse at an early age. Judy had a pet lamb named "Yammy" that she adored and cared for. Judy later went to school in Salem, Oregon where she attended Sacred Heart H.S. where she dated her future husband (James Joseph Fischer). Judy was valedictorian of her senior class. She went on to Oregon State University where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Judy remained close to her Kappa sisters and college friends throughout her life. Judy and Jim were married at St. Joseph's Church in Salem, Oregon on December 27th, 1957. They lived in multiple locations in Oregon (Portland, Lake Oswego) and Provo, Utah before settling in the Seattle area in 1975. They lived in Mercer Island, Kirkland and Redmond from 1975 to 2012. Judy moved into assisted living care after Jim's passing in 2012. Socializing and fostering long term relationships were very important to Judy; Bridge Club, family gatherings, "same time next year", tennis club, "the hood" etc. Judy loved playing tennis with friends in Bellevue for many years. Judy also loved to travel and was fortunate to see many countries and unique places in the world with her beloved "Jimmy." Jim's passing in 2012 devastated Judy as they had been together nearly all their lives. In her later years, Judy often talked about "going to heaven and being with Jimmy again." That was a common topic of discussion as her Alzheimer's progressed. She made sure all her friends and family knew she was ready to "go see Jim again." We can all imagine the many card games and tennis matches in Heaven with the likes of Clark, Janice, Andy and Ray Jay Bryan. Judy was preceded in death by her father (Clark Jackson), mother (Dorothy Jackson), husband (Jim Fischer) and sister (Janice Jackson). Judy is survived by her three children Amy Sarkie (Bob) - Woodinville WA, Drew Fischer - Ashville, NC and Bruce Fischer (Rhonda) - Sumner, WA, plus six grand children and five great grand children. She is also survived by sister Susan Stuhr and brother Steven Jackson. Judy will be dearly missed and sweetly remembered by many, many people. There will be a very small (immediate family only) in person remembrance due to current Covid restrictions.
