Judith Ann Grimes

Mrs. Judith Ann Grimes, age 82, a resident of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Health, surrounded by family. Mrs. Grimes was born August 15, 1941, in Lakeland, Florida to Jimmie Grady and Jeanette (Platt) Lipham. She was a lifetime Polk County resident, graduated from Kathleen High School in Lakeland,attended Hillsborough Community College, and retired from Publix Corporate Warehouse after 21 years. Thoroughbred Racehorses were one of the loves of her life. She went on to be an owner of numerous horses and worked alongside her father, mother, and son at their family farm and at several racetracks around the country. Judithwas a happy, generous, loving person and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and son – Daryl Wayne Cason. Judith is survived by her loving family, granddaughter – Jennifer Alvariza, of Lakeland, 3 great grandchildren, Brooke, Andres Jr., and Lucas; daughter-in-law – Deborah Cason of Lakeland and sister – Betty Frier of Lakeland. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
