Judith Ann Rijke

Judith "Judy" Ann Rijke passed away suddenly on April 9th, 2020. She was born Judith Ann Marie Strehl on August 18th,1941 in Oakland, California to Frank & Marian Strehl. Her family moved to New York where Judith graduated from Hicksville High School, where she was an award-winning diver. In Florida she earned an associate degree. She worked at Oakhurst Elementary as cafeteria worker moving to Anona Elementary and finally, Bauder Elementary as a PE Aide. She and her husband owned several successful service stations. She retired as a bookkeeper. Her greatest accomplishment, though was (in her words) 'creating four marvelous people, my children!"..Virginia (Bill), Ronald, Roger (Anna) and Robert (Thelma). She expressed that deep love well and often through artistically-wrapped gifts and many thoughtful birthday and Christmas card inscriptions over the years. She has always exhibited a sharp and spirited wit, particularly when expressing her strong views on world affairs! Judith is survived by 2 brothers, Phil (Serina) and Craig (VJ) and her sister, Susan (Paul). Her grandchildren are Leah (Jon), Billy, Matthew (Sara), Sarah, David, Maryah, Gabby, and great-granddaughter, Bailey. Judy is loved and will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her and her enthusiastic zest for life! Her service will be graveside on June 20th, 10 AM, at Largo Cemetery, 1298 Jasper Street, Largo, FL
