Judy S. Cole

Judy S. Cole, 65, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly after a short battle with cancer early Thursday morning, February 2, 2017 at Indian Path Medical Center. J Judy retired from the TN Department of Children Services as the Executive Director. After retiring, Judy enjoyed spending her time at the gym. She loved spending time with family and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her father, Stanton H. Steffey and grandparents. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Eugene "Herbie" Cole; mother, Jenni Steffey; sister, Kim Fifield and husband, Richard; brother, Stanton "Bubba" Steffey, Jr.; daughter, Tammy Hayes and husband, Steven; grandchildren Madelyn and Ryan Hayes; niece, Jessica Schaus and husband Sam; nephew, Jacob Hammond. Close to Judy's heart were her cousins Pam Gentry and Becky Laws. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Irene Cole; sister-in-law, Janice Harrison and husband Larry; other family members include Kristi Hicks and husband Richard and daughters Courtney & Callie; Brad Harrison and wife Brooke and daughters Makayla & Mackenzie. To celebrate and honor the life of Judy Steffey Cole, we will have a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church (213 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport, TN 37663) starting at 4 o'clock in the afternoon in the gymnasium.
