Judy Mae Diamond
August 7th, 1936 - April 14th, 2017
Judy Mae Diamond, the daughter of John Martin McAdams and Mary Elizabeth Housby, was born on August 7, 1936 on the North side of Chicago. As a child growing up she spent many hours as her father's soda fountain/candy store. Judy attended Catholic schools during these early years. Judy and her parents relocated to North Hollywood, CA, in 1949 where Judy attended North Hollywood High School. It was in North Hollywood where Judy met her soon-to-be husband of 58 years, Andrew Diamond. They dated for five months and made the decision to wed before Andy's immediate deployment to the South Pacific. They wed at "The Little Brown Church" in North Hollywood on August 31, 1954. Along came their daughter, Marta, in May of 1955 and son, John, arrived in August of 1957. Judy and her family lived in the suburbs of Los Angeles until September of 1966. They relocated to Tacoma, WA, to be near Andy's family. They purchased their first home in 1969 and Judy resided there until her passing. She worked in the food service industry as a waitress, and later in her career as a restaurant manager for the Lakewood Elks Club, Sherwood Inn, and the Tacoma Yacht Club. Judy will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She demonstrated kindness, grace, optimism, generosity, selflessness and perseverance throughout her entire life. We will all remember her lovingkindness. She was a blessing and inspiration to us all…until we meet again… While your're here on the website, please sign Judy's guest book.
