On December 11, 2020 our beloved Judy left this world to embrace her Lord and Savior and join her loved ones in Heaven. Judy was born July 20 1944 (on her father’s birthday) to Joseph and Nellie Lamonte in San Diego, California. She attended elementary school and graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego. She then attended nursing school at Paradise Valley Hospital in San Diego, she graduated valedictorian of her class. Judy went on to be a registered nurse in California, and Colorado. Judy's nursing career was interrupted by her marriage to Douglas Freeman (a submarine sailor) and a move to Hawaii and the birth of her first son, Kenneth. As a Navy family, we were transferred to Virginia Beach, Virginia where Kevin and Darin were born. Husband Doug was assigned to another submarine in the shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. After a few months, the ship, crew & families moved to New London, Connecticut. Judy and Doug decided to leave the Navy and become full time partners in raising 3 boys. While passing through Loveland, Co. on the way to San Diego, Doug applied at Kodak Colorado, and later accepted a job there. Judy moved again from San Diego with the family, she and Doug agreed not to move any more. After a short time being employed at Good Samaritan, Judy devoted all her time and skills into being a wonderful caring and loving mother and wife. Her kindness and peaceful personality affected all who knew her. She always saw the positive in everyone, never condemning or blaming anyone. She sought truth and peace. As well as being a 16 year breast cancer survivor, the last few years she bore the grueling burden of COPD and Heart disease, without complaint or losing her positive attitude. She always wished everyone well, and told them she loved them, and gave them a hug if she could. Judy was preceded in death by her Mother and Father and her oldest son Kenneth. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Doug, sons Kevin and Darin, 5 grand children Jakob, Lindzy, Bobby, Heather, and Josh, and 5 great grand children, Kendall, Colton, Dominick, Damon, and Enzo. Judy's moto for life was be patient, kind and loving and wear out rather than rust out! Cremation has been completed. Graveside services will be held in Spring of 2021.
