Judy and I met when we were 3 years old at First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. I have known Judy longer than any other person except family. Even though we lived, worshipped and attended school together for only ten years, she has been a wonderful friend. My family moved back to Tennessee when we were 13 years old. Tennessee was a connection for us. Both her parents were from Tennessee, and all my extended family were in Tennessee. She was 14 days younger than I. She never forgot my birthday. She always sent a birthday card and/or called me. We visited twice last year. Once at the 70th birthday party for our classmates from Auburndale and again in October when we visited her and Harry at their new home by the lake, a lovely setting. When Gail called me on Wednesday morning to tell me of Judy's passing, I was shocked. Her health issues finally ended. Gail told me she considered me her sister. Now, I can look forward to seeing yet another special person throughout eternity. We will worship, sing (on key), and spend eternity together praising our LORD and Savior. Thank you, Father, for the privilege of knowing Judy McCarter Vann.
