June 25th, 1930 - January 11th, 2021
Julianne Smith King, 90, of Star, Idaho passed away January 11, 2021, in her home with family and friends by her side. She was born to Desbro “Bob” and Jennie Hollis Smith in Glenns Ferry, Idaho on June 25, 1930. Julianne graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in 1948. Julianne married the late Lt. Col. Joseph S. King Jr. in 1953 and they moved from Glenns Ferry during his air force career. Julianne is survived by her three children Joseph (Candy) King, Jay King, and Judianne (Brian) Nichols and four grandchildren Joshua, Jack, and Josephine Nichols and Jacob King. She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Joseph S. King Jr. and brother Robert Smith. Julianne and Joe returned to the Glenns Ferry area in 1971, where they lived until 2001. She was a member of Victory Chapter #60 Order of the Eastern Star. Julianne played an integral role in and was dedicated to the restoration of the old rock school to become the Glenns Ferry Historical Museum. She was an independent woman with many interests, some of which included camping, hiking, fishing, gardening, and traveling. Julianne enjoyed spending time with her family and loved getting to see her grandchildren grow. My three kids A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry. The family asks donations are made to the Idaho Humane Society in lieu of sending flowers.
