Julie Marie Butler
April 24th, 1954 - March 15th, 2023
Julie Marie Butler, 68, passed away on March 15, 2023, in her home in Nampa, ID. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and was surrounded by her family when she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. Julie was born in Kalispell, MT on April 24, 1954, to Kenneth and Leta Erickson. Growing up in Kalispell she learned to be an exceptional skier with her friends and family through her father’s lessons. In 1967, Julie moved with her family to Missoula, Montana and graduated from Sentinel High School. Julie married her beloved husband on January 13, 1990 in Colorado. She was the mother of Scott (Christina); stepmother of Michael Jr; proud grandmother of Jared (Lisa), Dylan (Shannon) and Ethan; and great grandmother to Jace. She was also a motherly sister to James (Mary) Erickson, Michael Erickson and Beth (Mike) Botkin. Julie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jane (John) Roeske. Julie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, homemaker and office manager in the engineering sector. Her organizational skills and persistent hard work were some of her finest attributes. She had a passion for gardening and the outdoors, taking frequent camping trips to rivers and lakes through the Rocky Mountains. She especially loved visiting Seeley and Flathead Lakes. Julie loved chatting and reaching out to loved ones and lifelong friends. No matter where she went, people were never strangers. She had a unique ability to chat with anyone and brighten people’s day. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She loved bringing people together for a great meal or a backyard barbeque. Some of her favorite memories she had shared through the years were singing around the piano with her family during the holiday seasons. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Private memorial services will be held at Summers Funeral Home in Meridian ID on March 25, 2023. Flowers in Julie's memory may be sent to Summers Funeral Home. Julie loved flowers.
