All-States Cremation - Wheat Ridge
Julie Anne Frickman
September 15th, 1923 - March 3rd, 2021
Obituary for Julie Anne (Rodrigue) Frickman 1923 - 2021 Julie Anne (Rodrigue) Frickman, also known as “Lee”, “Nobby’s Boss”, “Mom”, “Aunt Julie”, “Grandmother” and “GG”, took her last breath on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the age of 97 years, 5 months, and 16 days. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Narvin Ballard Roger Frickman Sr. (Nobby), in 1979. Julie was born on September 15, 1923 and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana by parents Elmo Norbert Rodrigue and Juanita Delphine (Denechaud) Rodrigue. She was the oldest of five children including sisters Petie and Evelyn and was predeceased by brothers David and Bobby. In the early 1940’s Julie lived in New Orleans and worked at Hiller Jewelry as a bookkeeper and at the Lone Star Cement plant balancing payroll. She and Nobby wed in 1944 and moved to New York where Julie worked in the furs department of Saks Fifth Avenue while Nobby attended the US Naval Reserve Midshipmen’s School. They then moved to various cities in California, Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado as Nobby’s Naval career and subsequent employment with Humble Oil (Exxon) required. Upon Nobby’s passing Julie moved to Leucadia, CA and then in 2016 to Westminster, CO. Julie’s married years were spent managing a busy home and raising four children, serving as President of the Manhattan Beach Village League and working for many years as a playground monitor at Meadows Elementary School in Manhattan Beach where her children attended. Julie’s biggest job and greatest accomplishment in life was that her “four children grew up and all finished college.” Julie spent many of her widowed years volunteering as a docent at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. For her entire life, her prime focus was her family. She dedicated herself to being present for her four children at any time they asked. Over her long life, she cared for and/or spent time with her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for extended periods of time. Julie showed up for people. Mom was the matriarch of many and is survived by daughter Dianne Frickman Brooks (Greg) and sons Robert Charles Frickman, Sr. (Sharon), Narvin Ballard Roger Frickman, Jr., and Carl Elmo Frickman (Linny). Grandmother had 11 grandchildren including Jeffrey Shane Lippert, Heidi Dianne Lippert, Robert Charles Frickman, Jr. (“RC”), Dennis Michael Lippert (Jolene), Michael Tyler Frickman (Heather), Lauren Danielle Frickman, Conor Owen Frickman, Erin Lee (Frickman) Strottman (Rob), Nicole Dianne Frickman, Caroline Palmer (Frickman) Van Horn (Dan), and Allison Margaux Frickman. GG had 11 great grandchildren including Taylor Rae Frickman, Reese Love Frickman, Devin Gage Lippert, Roan Charles Frickman, Sawyer Magnusen Lippert, Ami Dianne Hento, Audrey Grace Lippert, Sloan Hagen Lippert, Reese Nicole Strottman, Quinn Waverly Lippert, and Kate Elizabeth Strottman. Julie is predeceased by many pets including Duke, Blackie, Lady, Charlie, Rip, Tiger and many birds, all of which she hated and were brought home by Nobby despite her adamant protests. A celebration of life will be held in New Orleans on a date yet to be determined, likely in October 2021.
